Tory Burch never fails to amaze me, every season every collection gets better and better. Tory Burch makes clothes that would be ideal for a First Lady.

This collection was inspired by Black Mountain College, a college that sparked controversy with its unorthodox ways of teaching. Black Mountain College incorporated art and the creation of art into every class, the college became an incubator for American avant-garde artists.

This collection includes trench coats, florals, a-line silhouettes, and a variety of prints. The trench coats are a perfect union of practical and fashionable. They are warm enough to keep you insulated yet fashionable enough to go with just about everything in your closet. One thing that is subtle but still needs to be discussed is the presence of ruffles in this collection. They give the collection a fanciful and feminine touch.

The color palette in this collection is hard to pin down, it’s one part muted neutrals and one part bright colors.While some pieces are brighter, the bolder colors are seen on the outerwear. More specifically, the aforementioned coats come in an array of eye-catching colors. However, what makes this collection interesting is not the colors themselves but what Tory Burch did with the colors. I’m not the biggest fan of pairing red with black, but I have to say the way Tory Burch combined the two colors was fantastic. Red orchids against black backdrop gave off an oriental vibe. Florals are a known Tory Burch staple can’t be a Tory Burch collection without at least some sort of florals. A sharp contrast to the bold floral prints seen in the Carolina Herrera collection, Tory Burch’s florals were subtler, they were made to complement rather than make a statement.

The bohemian trend that we’ve seen in other shows is also present in this collection. The clothes aren’t form fitting and lack the structure usually seen in Fall/Winter collections. Fall/Winter isn't the typical season to unleash your inner bohemian beauty, but that appears to be changing. Being based in Miami, I’m looking forward to actually being able to purchase clothing from winter collections now that they’re not so heavy.

When it comes to everyday wearability Tory Burch has never had an issue. The ready to wear collections are truly ready to wear. You can buy them this afternoon and wear them the next morning. They go straight off the runway into everyday life without a hitch.
