Ariana Grande’s newest album “Sweetener” has finally hit the airwaves and we could not be more excited! The album has a total of 15 new songs including her recent singles “no tears left to cry”, “the light is coming” (featuring Nicki Minaj), and “God is a woman”. The album has features including the iconic Missy Elliot, Pharrell Williams, and of course Nicki Minaj. The album overall has a very lighthearted tone which is nothing new to some Ariana fans.

The album opens with a short track titled “raindrops (an angel cried)” which is a short a'capella melody, which then transitions into an upbeat song titled “blazed” which features Pharrell Williams, who also produced a majority of the album along with Max Martin, Ilya Salmanzadeh, Tommy Brown, Brian Malik Baptiste, Hitboy, Charles Anderson, and Michael Foster. The album already has a few favorites among fans besides, with Ariana even having her personal favorite song off the album titled “R.E.M”, which was originally demoed for Beyoncé back in 2013 for her self-titled album having originally named the song “Wake Up”. Another popular song off the album at the moment is “breathin” in which Ariana [in an interview on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, August 17], says she wrote the song about an anxiety where you feel like you are out of breath.

The singer also has a song on the album titled “pete davidson” which is an ode to her current fiancée Pete Davidson. Her final track on the album, titled “get well soon” is written as almost a personal reflection on her life and mental health and speaking on how people have to become more positive, along with a reflection on the terrorist attack that took place in Manchester. The song also features 40 seconds of silence at the end to make the run time of the track 5:22, representing the date on which the tragic Manchester Bombing took place outside the venue of Ariana’s "Dangerous Woman Tour" stop that night.

Overall, we love Ariana’s new album, which is definitely a really uplifting and enjoyable listen filled with light beats and an overall positive and strong vibe on growth, love, and peace. If you haven't listened to Sweetener yet, what are you waiting for? You can listen to the new album on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and other streaming services like YouTube Music. Although we love this new album, is it her best album? What do you guys think? Let us know!
